Moto Psycho to Mina's "Il Twiste" which is taken from the opening music of Antonioni's L'Eclisse...I didn't know he passed into another dimension until just now..(9/11/07)This man was and is the master of modern film. If eisenstein and griffith were the newton and galileo of film theory then Michelangelo Antonioni is the Albert Einstein of film. All subsequent film language, style, technique and theory is an off shoot or twist of his relative film language...his films were much like a physics experiment or theory. The use of real time filming or uncompressed time in action made us look at cinema as the life recording device which it is. Antonioni's films were able to dissect or split a moment in time while also layering all aspects of life and existence to show us something we had never seen before on film...the whole picture. I was fortunate enough to see L'avventura at a film festival last October and it was the best experience I have ever had in the cinema...the closing wide shot of the courtyard and sea became grainy just for a second and the image on the screen then appeared three dimensional..I have never seen or experienced this before.. I don't know if it was intentional or not but I believe he did know what he was doing and knew it would have this effect...There are many wonderful artists that have made many true works of art but because of the technique and language of the work of Antonioni.. I don't believe there is anything to compare...I think as Einstein was in science... someday Antonioni will be recognised beyond the world of cinema for his work...As I said...I think he knew something and knew what he was doing...Hide

Une rareté "Twist and Shout".

Hide
